Darren Chong,
Director
In his role as Director at Grassroots Enterprise, Darren advises clients on communications strategies with a focus on using the web to enhance existing business and corporate functions. He also manages the development of large-scale websites and helps clients leverage emerging media and technology to their strategic advantage.
Prior to joining Grassroots, Darren worked for more than nine years in Washington politics, policy and media.
Beginning his career as a press aide at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., Darren's portfolio includes leadership positions at several politically oriented organizations including, most notably, the Family Research Council (FRC), where he led the website's redevelopment to a dynamic, database-driven platform. Subsequently, he spearheaded the organization's effort to use nontraditional web strategies to aggressively broaden the organization's scope and reputation. As a result, FRC grew its online constituent base from 72,000 to over 150,000 in just one year.
During Chief Justice John Roberts' nomination, Darren successfully orchestrated the implementation of FRC's online activities in support of the Chief Justice. The Library of Congress recognized the success of this effort through including the FRC site in a program that archives electronic copies of historically significant websites. Today, FRC is widely recognized as the leading online voice in the conservative movement.
Most recently, Darren served as Vice President for Creative Media at a top five market radio station in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Prior to that, Darren was a consultant with Forum One Communications - a technology solutions firm that assists non-profit, foundation, government and commercial organizations in making a positive impact on social issues.
Darren's client list includes the American Academy of Pediatrics, National Alliance to End Homelessness, George Mason University, CafePress.com and the World Bank.
The Washington Post, CNN, ABC News and DrudgeReport.com have featured his online strategic endeavors.
Darren speaks Mandarin, French and Taiwanese and lives in Virginia. He is an avid hiker and can be found - on any given weekend - exploring the Virginia woods with his trusty Giant Schnauzer.

DC Olympic Committee
GRE seized the coming of the 2006 winter Olympics to demonstrate the power of combining creativity and technology.
To advocate for voting rights for the District of Columbia, GRE drew comparison to other U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam who have their own Olympic teams, and established a DC Olympic Curling Team to make a bid for participation in the quirky sport at the Games in Turin, Italy.
