Front-End Web Developer
Washington, DC
Grassroots Enterprise has an immediate opening for a Front-End Web Developer, working in our Washington DC office, to contribute to the delivery of consulting and technology services to clients and the ongoing development of our software platform. Previous experience working in the public affairs field is a plus but not a prerequisite.
Responsibilities:
- Convert static designer compositions to functional markup
- Work with client account teams to create sites that will attract and retain visitors
- Work with our engineering team to craft the UI and markup for the next generation of our software product
- Manage client expectations and engage with clients and account teams to understand requirements
Qualifications:
- Expert skill in producing markup for sites using Photoshop, Illustrator, XHTML and CSS
- Fervent devotion to web standards
- Experience with Javascript and popular libraries such as JQuery, Prototype
- Experience with Ajax techniques a plus, as is familiarity with XML, XSL, JSON
- Experience with popular blogging tools and open source publishing software a plus (like Wordpress, MoveableType)
- Strong ability to convey and present ideas in writing and in person

Administrative Stuff
This is a full-time, salaried position offering competitive compensation, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K) and Holiday/Sick/Vacation pay.
Local candidates are preferred (Washington, DC). Relocation is not available for this position.
