(WASHINGTON, D.C., November 2, 2005) Grassroots Enterprise, a public affairs firm specializing in high-impact ways to recruit, retain and mobilize stakeholders, today announced that Kevin O’Neill has joined the staff of its Washington, D.C. office. O'Neill comes to Grassroots after a highly successful tenure as Executive Director of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC).
"Kevin is known, liked, and respected across the political spectrum, and deservedly so," said Arvind Rajan, Grassroots President and CEO. "We have no doubt that he'll add a powerful new strategic element in helping all our clients navigate the difficult waters of politics."
O’Neill comes to Grassroots after 4 years with the AAPC, including 2 years as Membership Director, and 2 years as Executive Director. His tenure with the AAPC was marked in particular by a commitment to embracing the power of technology. In 2005, he launched an innovative online submission and judging system for the Pollie Awards, AAPC's nationwide political communication competition. The new system was a resounding success increasing the number of entries by 37%, the number of entrants by 60%, and the number of judges by 100%.
"Kevin's cutting edge innovative work produced powerful, tangible results for the AAPC, and he will certainly be a trailblazer in online advocacy as well," said AAPC President Wayne Johnson. "Kevin's star is on the rise, and shining bright, and after years of helping recognize the best in political communications, I have no doubt everyone will be recognizing his achievements in the future."
"Grassroots Enterprise is at the cutting edge of technology, politics, and advocacy, and I'm thrilled to be part of the team," said O'Neill. "I've been particularly impressed with the work they've done applying the lessons of grassroots politics to the business world."
