Sierra Club First to Employ Revolutionary Technology to Let Volunteers Get Out the Vote from Home;
(WASHINGTON, D.C., September 16, 2004) Grassroots Enterprise, a public affairs firm specializing in high-impact ways recruit, retain and mobilize stakeholders, today announced the unveiling of its newest offering: "Grassroots Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend." The technology offering will enable supporters to log on, call target voters, and enter information and responses -- all from the comfort of their own homes.
The Sierra Club, one of the nation's most influential advocacy organizations, will be the first to roll out the service this week, as part of its "Road to Somewhere" effort. (www.SierraClubVotes.org).
"Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend has dramatically increased our ability to engage our volunteers in the Sierra Club's voter education activities," said Sierra Club National Media Director Kerri Glover. "Used as a virtual phone bank for our Road to Somewhere program, Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend gives us an easily manageable way to involve volunteers and focus their energy in areas where we really need their help."
Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend builds on the highly successful virtual phone bank efforts employed by the Clark and Dean campaigns in this year's election. Not only does it offer the opportunity for volunteers to log on and access phone numbers, it lets them enter unlimited fields of feedback from calls, communicate with other volunteers via a blog-based community, and process volunteers and donations.
"With Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend, we can offer organizations a way to use their full community of virtual volunteers for GOTV, advocacy, and even fundraising," said Arvind Rajan, President of Grassroots Enterprise. "And we have designed the service with speed in mind. Organizations interested in using Multiplier℠ Tele-Friend can have it fully operational in as little as 48 hours."
