American Chemical Society
The American Chemical Society (ACS) is committed to keeping its members informed of legislation that may impact the chemical enterprise and to bringing the expertise of ACS members to bear on science policy. That's why they turned to Grassroots Enterprise to help develop and grown their Act4Chemistry network, the Society's grassroots program for updating members on federal legislation and facilitating contact with members of Congress.
The Act4Chemistry Network has grown to almost 15,000 members across the nation, and has collectively sent over 8,000 letters to decision makers. The network's web site, which can be found at http://www.act4chemistry.org, has a number of robust features for member involvement including:
- Integrated blogs for updating members on state and federal grassroots activities and soliciting feedback via the comment section;
- Dynamic action center powered by Grassroots Multiplier℠ that features targeted legislative or other grassroots actions
- Integration of social media including news links from the social bookmarking tool del.icio.us and cross promotion of blog posts on Facebook.
Act4Chemistry focuses primarily on federal science education and R&D policy, but also addresses environment, workplace, and competitiveness issues. By working with Grassroots Enterprise, the voices of the network on these important issues are heard in the Capitol.

DC Olympic Committee
GRE seized the coming of the 2006 winter Olympics to demonstrate the power of combining creativity and technology.
To advocate for voting rights for the District of Columbia, GRE drew comparison to other U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam who have their own Olympic teams, and established a DC Olympic Curling Team to make a bid for participation in the quirky sport at the Games in Turin, Italy.
